Imagine yourself at a technology section at the mall and you see advertisements of cute robots or the cool and futuristic virtual reality eyewear. You look at it more to learn about it because it’s something you couldn’t imagine or just by the fact it looks “cool”. Trends and business today go hand in hand helping each other prosper and grow. Today in the year of 2015 many trends like virtual reality, games, and robotics are popular among society. Many tech companies would use that trend to advertise their technology to prosper. A company that is a good example of technological gaming, robotics, software, and etc. would be Sony Corporation a Japanese multinational conglomerate. It allows the user to send pictures or videos privately to someone you know and later the history will disappear. Snapchat’s type of ownership is corporate organization (“Snapchat, Inc.”). The CEO/ one of the founders of Snapchat is the young twenty-five years old, Evan Spiegel (Entis). In the year of 2013, Snapchat was having ownership rights conflict between the co-founders and Frank Reginald Brown. Mr. Brown was the one to come up with idea of images and videos that disappear; thus he believed he should ownership rights. The settlement has not been made public ("Snapchat Settlement Ends Bitter Ownership Dispute - BBC News.”). Snapchat’s headquarters are located in 63 Market Street Venice, CA 90291 (“Snapchat, Inc.: Private Company Information”). My personal experience with Snapchat is that I’ve only used it once with a friend and never ever used it again because my interests do not lie with taking selfies. Snapchat takes advantage of business trends by the use of: Social Exclusivity because of its disappearing videos and photos. In conclusion Snapchat is company that developed mobile messaging using photo and video allowing the user to send pictures or videos privately and later disappearing. Also, like any other company, Snapchat also has its own conflicts.
