He talks about how he would lose his family, friends, and luxury. No one would care about him even though what he has been through. For example, he said there is “a new refinement in cruelty, which, while it has no advantage to atone for it, thus aggravates distress, and adds fresh horrors even to the wretchedness of slavery.” If human nature is now adding new horrors to slavery, then that means that human nature is going to be on a whole new level of cruelty. They are being separated from families and friends and no one is doing anything to help people who are suffering this. He uses a lot of negativity towards human nature to influence his writing.
