“Shitty First Drafts” by Lammott explains the importance of getting all of your ideas on the paper in the first draft. First, she states you need to be able to tune everyone and everything out, and write on the paper what occupies your mind about that topic. You need to incorporate all of your ideas on the paper, because you may have one good idea that will lead you onto your second draft. Throughout your drafts in the writing process, your work will continue to get better. Your first draft will more than likely always be shitty, for no one else will see it.
