The Lottery was when they were going through all of the protocols for someone to end up getting sacrificed. They would start by naming the families last name and the husband or man of each family would go up first and draw there slip of paper. Then the wife or lady of the family would go up and draw her slip. Every person with a slip of paper would open it and look at it all at the same time. The person’s family that had the slip with a dot of ink on it would be closer to getting sacrificed. Then everyone in the family would go up and draw another slip and whoever had the dot again would be the one who gets sacrificed by being stoned. The person who was stoned was Mrs.
