These developmental stages aligned with the Georgia’s Early Learning and Development Standards and The Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework. The curriculum that is used is “The Creative Curriculum” which incorporates current research and theory into early childcare and learning. This curriculum uses strategies, models, and objectives of development to help the staff provide a strong learning base. (Sheltering Arms, 2015) as a result of this strong curriculum and excellent leadership the Sheltering Arms Program is working on a strategic plan for the next five years. A committee was identified to work with a consulting firm in the planning process. This team is made up of three groups, the Core Team, the Leadership Development team and the Vision Team. The Sheltering Arms Program has a long history of consistency and has increase learning in the children that have passed through this program since, 1888. It has also provided ample opportunities for the families of the children to become involved in the program, through providing learning opportunities about life skills, communication pathways between staff and parents, and also by inviting them to be a part of the strategic planning committee. The curriculum is often used as a model for other schools to follow due to the outstanding achievements of the children in the
