Shari Olges's Footsteps in Life Most of the time, individuality is a trait that one must learn because they already have the ability to open up to others, but for a specific individual, individuality is a trait that comes naturally. On September 26th 2015, I interviewed Shari Olges, my mother, in her living room. We conducted the interview on two separate couches, which was clever of her due to the small size of these couches, in which I sat on the couch closest to a window bursting with light. Mrs. Olges sat on a couch that was slightly longer and enveloped some space used to enter her vast kitchen. The temperature of the room was slightly chilly, with a small amount of moisture being forced into the air by a nearby moisturizer. The area …show more content…
She immediately leaped onto Mrs. Olges's lap. This dog though was no lap dog, but rather a larger 70-80 pound beast that quite frankly did not know that she was a large puppy. Mrs. Olges didn't show any care to Bailey's introduction, and began to speak. Mrs. Olges is a red-haired lady that is of average height, and explained to me that she is a nurse. She has three children including myself, enjoys cooking, baking, and is married to a wonderful husband. Mrs. Olges was born December 2nd, 1974 in Wisconsin. Shari was a very stressed and hard-working woman that spent her life in a very serious way. She proved this to me by stating, "I never went to any homecoming, parade, or special event at school because I was determined to graduate and succeed in high school. I did not think fun would help me and my work, but I was wrong." I am currently doing the same thing with my life, not having fun. Time to time an event would pop up but I just don't understand how I can go to the event and still get back to my work. At that time, fun was David's middle name. David was "the reason fun came into my life." He would spend his time out of class socializing and ignoring the people around him. There was always the sound of his obnoxious slamming of the locker in the hallway that everyone could hear. When they met, they hated each other. They would later come to a resolve and marry each other so that they may share life with each other. The day Shari was married was the day fun had truly impacted her. The sound of the graceful bells with the harmonizing piano, the birds heard outside the church, and the smell of freshness and renewal in the air. With David, all seriousness was lost and Shari would learn to enjoy life. Her life has almost always been a joy since her wedding day, and she is glad that it

In the real world, hate is a reaction that people tend to avoid. This belligerent response proves that the average person is either resembling an appearance of aggressive behavior, or showing signs of a recalcitrant nature leading to life changing habits. In George Orwell’s book 1984, it explains how hate for the party is he primary fuel source for the ever growing dystopian engine. Individuality is a very general idea about a certain lifestyle. While it can be perceived in many different ways, both Ralph Waldo Emerson and Washington Irving accurately describe it through different viewpoints in their works, titled “Self Reliance,” and “Rip Van Winkle,” respectively. While many people try to find different compromises between being an individual and being part of society, both of these works demonstrate the values and importance of both pulling yourself out of organized society and including yourself in groups…

I walked with stiff pie-encrusted legs. I was on my way to work from McKinley high school. The scene of the crime, where the miniature cherry pie took flight from Jessica Rabanne's lunch tray (and landed on my favorite jeans) to even further deepen my hatred for that lip-gloss-wearing beast. Now, I wouldn’t be so salty if she had apologized instead of complaining about the fact that her pie came into contact with my thigh. As tragic as it was, I didn’t have time to go home and change after school.…
