This is neither Aeneas’ strong suit nor Scott Pilgrim’s at the beginning of their stories. When Troy is under attack, all Aeneas can think about is how he is going to fight the Greeks. His wife, Creusa, is forgotten in the chaos. When he finally goes back to look for her, she is not there. He realizes that she is dead and says, “Never would she be/Restored to us. Never did I look back/Or think to look for her, lost as she was,/Until we reached the funeral mound and shrine/Of venerable Ceres” (627-631). At the beginning of Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, Scott is dating high school student Knives Chau. While Scott and Knives are at the library, Scott sees a girl, who we later learn is Ramona Flowers and is unable to stop thinking about her (O’Malley 38). Scott gathers more information about her at a party and finds out that she is a delivery girl for Amazon. He then orders a package and when Ramona delivers it he says, “Do you want to go out sometime? Do you—I think we should date” (O’Malley 74). The two gradually form a relationship while Scott is still dating Knives.
