Not only was this piece strategically placed in the entrance so it caught the audience 's attention, but its composition also had enough directional force to withdraw one 's sight to the focal area of the piece (it also has the darkest values). His combination of organic (nature and clothing) and geometric (architecture and guns) shapes are well balanced throughout the image helps it unit. Birk 's drawing capabilities and high attention to details made the piece more sophisticated and interesting. As many artworks the story behind this image was not described (given), nevertheless, it did provide a lot a room for a the viewers to interoperate the scenario themselves. In my opinion, this drawing reinterpreted the "leading a sheep to the slaughter-house" scenario, but with an anti-war twist. What I like about his layout is that he decided to set the Magna Carta as the foundation of the Monument, since it is one of the first signed documents that protects citizen 's rights (even though it was forced upon). The composition simple but effective ,because the monument is centered it gave it more emphasis. The watchtower on the top is wrapped with barbed wire and has surveillance cameras pointing towards it suggesting that the one being watched is the watcher (law-makers and enforcers—are treated the equally). Personally, the five skeletons gesture "speak, hear, and say no evil," indicating that these certain laws prevent evil form happening, and that is why they observers (drawn in the bottom) are at peace. Overall, this piece was a beautiful and intricate
