He made it to where Lennie couldn’t feel it so that means the George cares enough to at least make it not hurt. George killed him by himself because he didn’t want anybody else to kill him or get to him. Either way Lennie would have been killed whether he liked it or not because he killed Curley’s wife.

The last reason is because he died happily. George was talking to him about the farm”... we’ll have maybe a pig an’ chickens…” (105) and how it was going to be. Lennie was happy that he was getting some alfalfa to put his rabbits on. As Lennie was getting happier and happier George almost shoots him there, “George raised the gun and his hand shook, and he dropped his hand to the ground again” (105). Lennie was really excited then, BAM, he got shot, but he was really happy and the is all that George wanted. He wants to do it himself to make sure that Lennie died happily.

In conclusion George did the right thing by killing Lennie. Although he didn’t want to he still did it. Lennie did something really bad and George helped him out a little. However, I wouldn’t shoot my best friend I would run away with her and leave everybody else. I am sure it was hard for George because he has been taking care Lennie and that was most definitely hard for
