“Rikki-Tikki knew he was a young mongoose and it made him all the more pleased to think that he had managed to escape a blow from behind.” (pg. ) Rikki and I share multiple human qualities, one of them is bravery. In my soccer season, I stepped up to be the goalie when no one else wanted to. The theme of the fictional story Rikki-tikki-tavi by Rudyard Kipling is bravery can conquer your fears.
Rikki-tikki is a brave and curious character in this story. “It gave him confidence in himself, and when Teddy came running down the path, Rikki-tikki was ready to be petted’’(page 9). This is shown in the story where Nag went to bite the dad and Rikki-tikki made a sound which warned the dad about Nag intentions. In conclusion, Nagaina shows many representations of despicable and

Nagaina, another character in the story is wicked and mean. She had crept up behind him as he was talking, to make an end of him; and he heard her savage hiss as the stroke missed (para 29).This demonstrates the character trait because Nagaina tried killing Rikki and that proves she is wicked. This helps my thesis because Nagaina is different than Rikki because she is evil and wants to kill everyone and have the garden to herself, but Rikki is courages and wants to be in peace. Nagaina was coiled up on the matting by Teddy’s chair, within easy striking distance of Teddy’s bare leg, and she was swaying to and fro, singing a song of triumph (para 83).This demonstrates the character trait because Nagaina is mean and she is trying to kill Teddy because he dad killed Nag. This proves the thesis because Nagaina got the courage to kill Teddy and his family because the big man shot Nag.…
