Rosa Luxemberg, saw the World War that was bound to take place as the turning point for Germany. Germany could not just interfere in the war and expect to maintain their power in the International Congress. As a result from the World War altered the living conditions in Germany. The people of the lower class rose up to power as a result due to the amount of conflicts bearing upon them. This would lead to catastrophe in Europe, with the result of 16-18 million men from different nations, armed with the best weapons would be at war with each other. This would lead to the struggle against imperialism to increase as the people are looking for a leader to lead them in the right direction. This was a defeat for the working class people as they are the ones that have to face the altered conditions in society as a result form the war.
Luxemberg argues that the assertion that a German Victory, even if it occurred, would never make the sacrifices of the war worthwhile for the German people due to the conditions the German people have to live in after the war. She was killed during the German Revolution of 1918-1919 to prevent her from leading the uprising to lead Germany. To the country, she was essential as she knew what the effects of going to war would lead to and as it happens to be she was correct in her insights as Europe had another World War. By taking a Marxist view on the wars, we have seen Germany going from being one of the most influential countries in Europe to being downgraded in the power, and revolt to be attempt becoming one of the most powerful countries again. Over the course of these wars, Germany has obtained numerous amounts of debt. The quality of life in Germany was altered as a result of these revolutions and has deeply impacted societal values in the country. Rosa Luxemberg has identified and predicted the effects of the wars, which Germany has gone throughout 1914-1919, which have landed her in jail and being accused as a revolutionist.
