Wilson believes that although there usually is a bias “Everyone dumps on the youngest generation,” by Giselle Kovary, the iGeneration reliance on technology does not always have negative effects and can actually make individuals more social and instill them with better qualities. This can be seen when Wilson explains that as a teacher, students will use their technology to contact her for assistance on assignments regardless of the location and how students will attend class disregarding the teachers attendance, which shows that those of the iGeneration are able to benefit academically from technology. Wilson states that, just as there are studies of how relying on technology can yield to negative effects, there are just as many studies of how they can lead to positive results, in addition she acknowledges that students do not use their technology in class “out of disrespect” (274) but instead she realized that for the students, it is something normal they do and that's how they get to …show more content…
Wilson argues that the iGenerations feeling of gratification has come in order to propel innovation and the feeling of being rewarded. An example that Wilson provides is dopamine which acts like a reward system every time individuals do something good and that helps with rapid change, as a result of the dopamine, those of the iGeneration crave change and creativity. When an individual innovates something in society, dopamine will send an “immediate gratification” (277) which excite them and sends them craving for more
