Analysis Of Rapunzel In Tangled

The movie students decided to watch in class was the Disney animated movie Tangled. Tangled is about a lost princess who has over 50 feet of magical hair that can heal wounds and reverse aging. The princess was stolen from the guarded castle as a baby in the middle of the night. Rapunzel the name her parents had gave her was locked in a tall tower where no one would be able to find her. Rapunzel is a character that has both personalities outgoing and determined. She always finds ways to keep her busy while her “mother” is away looking for food and resources. As a thief enters the tower she makes this man a deal in order for him to be freed. Maslow 's hierarchy of needs talks about how all humans have different levels of needs for survival for example we work to make money to fulfill those needs such as food and objects an individual wants. The first step on Maslow’s pyramid is physiological. Physiological involves basic instincts that humans need to survive such as breathing, food, water, sleep, etc.…. Rapunzel fulfills this stage since she is a human being she first off needs to be able to breath. In the movie the thief Flynn Rider asks her if she’s hungry. Without food the body does not have energy to complete simple tasks such as walking. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider decide to eat at the snuggly Duckling that contains men who are very scary looking and warrior like. The second stage on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is Safety. Safety includes the security of the body, employment, resources, and most importantly health. Safety can be shown when Flynn Rider decides to hide in the tower from the guards after he has stolen the crown. When he climbs up the tower Rapunzel uses the pan as a weapon to protect her self. As soon as he climbs in she decides to hit him with he pan on his head and suddenly falls to the ground. The third stage on the pyramid is love and belonging. This reminds me of the time I competed in a tennis tournament at the age of 13. Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs can be shown when I was training and as I played through the tournament. The first level on Maslow’s harts is physiological. In order for me to be strong and healthy I first must eat lots of food that have protein and acquire rest after every practice. Without these main factors I would not be able to move up on the chart. The second on Maslow’s chart is safety. Safety is another important factor can play a crucial role in the long run. Since I sprained my ankle several times, my ankle is very weak. Before each tennis practice and match I must wear a ankle brace in order to support my ankle. If I do not wear tis brace it can cause more damage to my ankle and I would be out for the season. Love and belonging is the category that follows after safety. The friendship I have with my instructor is a friendship you can’t beat. If i did not trust my instructor and show respect to him he would not train me to be the best. I must show respect and honesty when it comes to my instructor. Second to last is esteem. Esteem plays a big part in the game of tennis. A player must have confidence and confidence can only be achieved when you have support. My parents would come to every match and encourage me to fight and win the match. As I played in the semi-finals I had lost to my opponent. I was really upset and
