He finds a perfect scapegoat in Ruth. I have to give the author credit for this character. I hated being in his chapters so much that I had to keep checking to see how many minutes I had left! The author talks (through her characters) about there being two kinds of racism active and passive.
This is a courageous book because regarding direction Picoult is white or is unafraid regarding revealing in conformity with her readers how many even hoary human beings along the excellent about intentions be able find that wrong.
