This week’s topic is poverty. Poverty is a term that defines an individual or family that does not have the funds, goods or means of support to live a good quality life. Living among poverty is extremely difficult and it is hard for someone to pull them self out of poverty. The first song we listened to was “Sixteen Tons” by Johnny Cash. One of the first lines in the beginning of the song says, “A poor men made outta muscle and blood, Muscle and blood and bones”. These lyrics are describing someone who is constantly working as a laborer, using their hands, sweat and blood to make a living. The lyrics that follow the first section says, “You load sixteen tons, what do you get, Another day older and deeper in debt”. These lyrics add to the explanation
