Preparing for take-off… 3, 2, 1… Blast off. When traveling to unknown land, we go into wherever that place is open-minded. We take on the adventure not knowing the next move you will take or what is simply out there that thrills us of excitement. Going to space has deeply affected not only our society and our life, but also our personal state of mind.
The Taking the chances to that unknown land can turn out to be a very beneficial outcome to life. With taking those chances of exploring the beyond, such as space, has benefitted mankind with advancements of technology. These sources of technology that we utilize everyday are not realized by people that they are powered from the space and that without that daring choice to travel to space, none of those objects could help these be invented. Like on a spaceship our parents were our manuals, our guidelines. Whether it is learning to make the right decisions, our parent’s countlessly punishing us from our wrong doings, or them enlightening us with advice on their simple mistakes so we can learn from them and do the same. We have been always been dependent on their help; however, how brutal this experience may seem, it is necessary for one to endure. In the novel, Leaving Orbit, by Margaret Lazarus Dean, embarks a new concept that relates students entering college for the first time to space travel and that this exploration is important for one’s personal life and for society. Like in a rocket ship leaving earth and traveling to the outer-unknown is a analogy to a first-time freshman leaving their home and entering into a new way of living.
