Analysis Of 'Nightly Double Drive In The Outsiders'

In chapter two of “The Outsiders,” Ponyboy and Johnny meet up with Dally to go to the “Nightly DOuble Drive-In.” They sneack into the drive-in even though the admission is only a quarter. They enjoy the challenge of sneaking in, simply because Dally hates doing things the legal way. Once inside, they pick seats near the concession stand where they are greeted by two gorgeous female Socs, Sherri (Cherry) and Marcia, who were ditched by their drunk boyfriends. The girls are the target of Dally’s dirty talk, which gets on their nerve. So, to cool them off Dally decides to go buy them sodas. Meanwhile Ponyboy and JOhnny introduce themselves to the girls and they all have a nice violent-free conversation. When Dally returns and begins his torments
