Analysis Of Nba2k18: The Best Basketball Game Of All Time

Improved Essays
NBA2k18 is the most successful and entertaining basketball game of all time. There are a few reasons it is the best of all time- it has more than enough game modes, the actual quality of the gameplay and graphics is 2 steps ahead of all other basketball games, and it offers unrivaled customization. These traits mold together to seamlessly create the greatest basketball game ever. Last year, the same studio produced a similar comparable game. You may find yourself asking, “Why pay $60 for the same game with the same game modes as last year?” The reason people are more than willing to do just that is because of the new game modes along with deeper depth and realism that 2k studios added. The biggest, most innovative new game mode they added this year is in MyGM. While MyGM has been in games in the past, this year they added a story mode to it giving it more depth and letting you be completely immersed (bleacher report). The next biggest feature they added was on the analytics side of things which helps in connecting the game to real life. The tool they added is called the “analytics tool” which allows you to plot any two stats against each other much like you could do in real life allowing you to compare players and what-if scenarios. (bleacher report)
The biggest mode added had been requested for years by fans- a draft mode.

IGN adds on to the other praises with comments like, “Even something as nuanced as the help defense has really been diversified this year based on personnel. Defenders will leave suspect shooters like Ben Simmons and Josh Jackson alone in the corner from three-point land and help out on drives instead,” This is bringing a big part of basketball- basketball IQ, and bringing it into the game through improved AI. This doesn’t improve the feel of your player but rather how other players react and bringing the game to life by mocking real life situations
