In this assignment, I have presented a third person’s note into my journey as an Entrepreneur. Please note that the character ‘Anil’ in the events described below is none other than Anil Gandham, i.e. I. I will take the reader through my journey from an IT specialist in a $10 billion multi-national company to an entrepreneur, against the odds. Every phase is explained in detail, showcasing the learnings and characteristics exhibited by the entrepreneur in this case. I will also analyze in detail the reasons for failure or success of events that play a crucial role in the journey. Please don’t consider the below as a sign of arrogance or boast. He decided to take a step back in the quest to reach his new set goals. However, that didn’t devoid him of the responsibility of the organization. He is still a decision maker and is responsible for the company’s progress. Anil, using effectuation, advanced towards a sellable idea and also interacted in search of self-selecting partners to co-create and grow. (Bird-in-Hand)Before he set out to start the venture, he questioned himself on who he knew, what he knew and who he is. The answers helped him in forming a clear road map and also reduced efforts. He also limited risk by minimized the costs by using barter system, instead of choosing large all-or-nothing opportunities (Affordable Loss). Anil never created ‘what-if’ scenarios but grabbed the opportunity during the crisis to create a new industry of training the fitness coaches and the next generation fitness icons (Lemonade). He ventured into fitness camps in corporates and co-created a fitness space in the ever growing corporate arena (Patchwork quilt).
