Al-Jaleel, is a warm spirit, who has never had a chance to shine. He is a man who has never been afforded the simple things of life exploration, or the resources to enjoy the beauty that life offers. Since his birth, he has been on the wrong side of life tracks. He has not been able to reach his full or even partial potential to realize the American Dream. The zip code of his birth profoundly diminished his star.

He is like so many thousands of men of African descent, a product of circumstance. Circumstance, nearly impossible to break away, be released, or recover from. As, it is selfish and demands total submission of its captives. That is the social reality of the society far too many men like Al-Jaleel has faced. Al-Jaleel, is a man who is a product of a vicious landscape that irrespective of his gentle soul, kind nature, or love for family, its influence can negatively impact a person’s life. The landscape that Al-Jaleel has been forced to endure, due to no fault of his own, no person should have to undertake. How does one escape poverty and ignorance, when one has never possessed the financial, material support, or educational means to navigate the quagmire. For the few that escape, thousands remain trapped to a zip code.
That said, yes, no one is perfect, but everyone deserves the opportunity to self-fulfil. No one deserves to have barrier after barrier placed in front of them. This will fore sure make someone see
