Thomas claims that “ If we were not provided with the knack of being wrong,we could never get anything useful done.” This hereby states that with the help of messing up,it allows one’s thoughts to broaden into finding new and improved ways of solving a mystery. Not only does Thomas believe that make a mistake is a good thing, but he considered it to be a “lucky day” in that having a day without a blunder is just an ordinary day. He is saying this simply because of the fact that he truly thinks that having a mistake is just one way to stretch the mindset of one person. By going back and looking at the wrong in the situation you can finally see what needs to be changed and how to make that change in a sophisticated way.
