It was late at night when Misha had heard a gunshot. Before he knew it, he had only one ear. Not long later, all of the Jews were forced into the Ghetto. In the city, it was rare that you would find a store that sold to Jews. It was also rare that Jews had any money to buy anything. The Jews were also losing their houses and there was no electricity. One day all Jews wore an arm band to show that they were Jewish. They all walked in lines carrying sacks of food, and cases of clothes. They were to move out of the Warsaw into the Ghetto, which was inescapable due to a large wall blocking off the entire city. Jackboots lined the wall like stripes on a t-shirt. Janina and her family found a place to live, but it wasn’t anything compared to a house. It must have only been as big as a closet.
