Summary: Donating

Donating is a very charitable thing to do, whether it be feeding the homeless, sacrificing your time at a boys and girls club, or even donating your clothes to the local salvation army. There are many organizations that help do charitable things like the Red Cross, but there are also unnoticed organizations that help the needy such as Misereor. Misereor is the German Catholics Bishops’ Organization for Development Cooperation. For over 50 years Misereor has been committed to fighting poverty in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. There support is to any human being in need. To gain more donors they created a easier way to donate with a campaign called “The Social Swipe”. Every organization advertises to their best ability but with a little more …show more content…
When implementing visual effects it makes things seem more real, giving the illusion that you, yourself are personally giving to that person in need. There aren 't really any major improvements I would make besides making the billboards globa. It is only located in Europe specifically in Germany. If they make the billboards in North America, South America, and so on Misereor would get more help than they asked for. Also some people don’t want to pay $2 to donate they should have an option on how much you want to donate.
The creative philosophy in Misereor is the visualization. Visualization captures the attention of people. Also the slogan has a capturing encouraging theme. Misereor has two slogans they say, “Let justice roll down like waters” , and “ If many little people in many little places do many little deeds they can change the face of the Earth”. These slogans were taken from African proverbs, encouraging people that the little bit of good you do it

Poverty has existed since the beginning of time, it is something that can probably never be resolved but it can gradually be decreased. For the people who are interested in donating or helping those in need it is socially acceptable. The goal is to get those people who don 't donate or that are not interested in donating to join the bandwagon. When you are in church they always pass around a collection plate for you to donate money, some people feel forced even though they aren 't verbally or physically being forced. It makes you feel bad that you don 't give to the church. With the the social swipe it doesn 't feel forced, it makes donating fun without second guessing your donation. The thing I would say should be changed is that people should be able to choose how much they want to offer. Some people wouldn 't want to donate $2, some won 't mind, and then there 's those that want to donate more. The $2 donation limits or exceeds the amount people want to pay. Im sure Misereor can find a way to change that portion of the duel electronic billboard. Another thing about Misereor is that a lot of people never heard of there organization. They need to market their company better to be noticed. There is no point of trying to have a business and you need assistance from people, you have to be known. Even though Misereor is a great organization, what they need is

Sally Satel makes the argument that there is no such thing as indignity when receiving financial gain for the donation of an organ, and she is correct by saying such. Satel believes that in order to increase the amount of transplants that occur worldwide, there much be some sort of incentive to the donors. The types of incentives should not be regulated by the government though, because the life of an individual that needs an organ is not the business of the national government. Satel opens her argument by describing the two different methods that governments want to take to sole the organ donor and transplant crisis that is occurring in the world today. The first solutions she says that governments want to use is making organ trafficking…

I plan to own a small, local restaurant when I’m older, and plan to only hire homeless people to work as my staff. Not only that, but I would want to set up something where everyday people could come into my restaurant and when they bought their meal, they would have the option to pay an extra amount, such as $3 and would receive this sticker. The people would then write something encouraging on the sticker and stick it to the wall. This wall could completely change someone 's day because that sticker is a ticket to a free meal. So for example, if a homeless man walked in, they could grab one of the stickers off the wall, bring it to the front and receive a free burger or a free slice of pizza, or something along those lines.…

The author presents this model because it has into account two features that must be present in doing charity: mercy and justice. He says that mercy is the door, an invitation, but not the destination. Most people feel moved to contribute to a charitable cause, but the real goal of that cause should be a sense of justice, that these people find a real and lasting solution to their needs. Thus, mercy combined with justice would create immediate care with a future plan and short-term interventions would become long-term developments for the person or the community in…

Often times, articles and advertisements that encourage people to donate always appear to be faulting people for have enough. Like Peter Singer stated in his article “The Singer Solution to World Poverty”: “In the world as it is now, I can see no escape from the conclusion that each one of us with wealth surplus to his or her essential needs should be giving most of it to help people suffering from poverty so dire as to be life-threatening. That 's right: I 'm saying that you shouldn 't buy that new car, take that cruise, redecorate the house or get that pricey new suit. After all, a $1,000 suit could save five children 's lives” (329).…

The shortage of organs available for transplants and the increase of kidney failure has created an epidemic of patients on dialysis who await a donor. As the current program of unpaid voluntary donors in North America is not adequate, many urge that compensation for organ donation could be a legitimate solution. The demand for a realistic resolution in organ transactions raises concerns on the breach of human integrity. This paper will explore the ethical dilemma of selling organs as commodities as morally acceptable and the possible justification by the benefits received for both the donor and recipient.…

A positive to taking care of a patient with the most serious condition is that a life was saved just in time. When you go for someone who is not in a serious place you jeopardize losing more people. The goal should be to save as many lives as possible. The thought of a patient who has a year to live to someone who can die in a week if an organ is not given seems more logical. The age and the likely hood of survival should also be considered as well to ashore that the organ was used to the fullest.…
