Analysis Of Metamorphosis By Eliza Au

The art piece Metamorphosis by Eliza Au is a complex assortment of seven large white structures on a wall that require keen observational skills to better understand what their function is. Metamorphosis was created in 2017 and uses wood, paper, and ceramic as it’s medium. The base of these structures is a large white circle made of wood. Each circle has 6 points coming off of its wooden frame, which create a sort of star shape on top of the white circles. Within the center of the points, each display has a center piece on it, a heart if you will. This center spectacle is like a star as well, it has 3 jagged points going into different directions. On the circle, beneath the larger star shape, there is a crochet kind of design smattered about …show more content…
I believe this art piece is good because it has interesting and attention-grabbing composition, creates a story from piece to piece, displays originality, and is visually pleasing to the eye. I find the piece to have an interesting composition, because, compared to not only Eliza Au’s other works but other art works I have seen before this assignment, nothing like this piece has ever quite grabbed my attention so much. Furthermore, I personally have never been drawn to artwork such as this one, I show a preference to paintings. The fact that someone who might not particularly enjoy this sort of art can be drawn to it and intrigued by it, gives praise to the composition of the artwork. Likewise, with the composition, the originality is yet another aspect that is crucial to judging this piece as good or not. I am someone who enjoys art, I have been to many museums and seen many art pieces and I can honestly say I have never seen an artwork like this one that I enjoyed so much even though it strays from the norm of my are preference. My overall judgement of this work is that it is not only good but it displays originality in a high-quality

Digital illustrator, Lauren Elise Reeves, is one of the three artist responsible for the many impressive masterpieces, exhibited in the Art Gallery of the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University. Ms. Reeves has cleverly managed to use her skill to captivate her audience and lure them into deep thought through her various works of art. Although many of her other pieces are fascinating, the piece titled "Red Dog" is exceptional. Unlike her other works, the "Red Dog" was painted with acrylic. As I began to soak in the acrylic painting, many thoughts and emotions evoked in my mind.…

Although change isn't always followed with horrid results, it's hard to adjust to, since pain, suffrage and misunderstandings create obstacles. Discomforts of a specific situation leads to pain- state of being hurt- when something in movement is not welcomed. To feel loved is necessary in a human-being’s life; once loneliness wraps around one’s life, things begin to shift; and others surrounding one, gradually begins to be affected.
