Are any of these cattle actually being milked for their creative juices, or are they just being milked of their money. According to Matt Walsh “student debt has gone up by 275 percent in the last decade.” (Walsh 3) That means that kids who already have no money go into college and come out into the world in debt. That’s like taking away food from a baby who hasn’t even been born yet. Kids are being told by their parents, and everyone around them that they need to do something that can harm them. Teenagers as young as 18 are being forced to take out loans for books, class fees, food, housing, clothing, supplies, the list goes on. Then we expect that as soon as they graduate they have to get a job and do something with themselves, otherwise they are considered unnecessary, young, and arrogant to the world. They are told to get their life together, but how can someone get their life together when their so far in debt they are being forced to pay more than they make. Like Matt Walsh, I feel that not everyone is meant for college. Some, like Walsh don’t like, or don’t want to go through a more stressful, and difficult version of high school. It was hard enough the first time. By not going to college you can avoid the inevitable debt, and pointless piece of paper degree, that holds no value. College is meant for people who need or want a degree that is required for a job. Not everyone is college material, so we should stop forcing it on everyone, you can be successful without going to
