Throughout the article, Mary Worley expresses her feelings toward body acceptance by not only revealing many of her real-world experiences,(including a trip to an NAAFA convention, an outlook change in accords to dieting, and discovering the most beneficial way to becoming a healthier human being), but also by providing seemingly factual information to support her opinions about the way in which others view overweight people in our society. Unfortunately, she fails to provide credibility in accords to many of her numerous accusations; therefore, Worley sometimes comes across a mite pretentious. However, some of her more opinionated claims retain value considering Worley, a woman who has constantly struggled self-consciously with her own weight and body acceptance, has lived through many ordeals as a result of her weight; although this article explores many of Worley 's experiences, it also ineffectively generalizes groups of people and composes many claims lacking factual credibility.

In 1999, she made the decision to exercise more and become a vegetarian instead of dieting. Tracy Miller, the author of "Is going vegetarian really better for you?", agrees with Worley 's choice of lifestyle and speculates that becoming a vegetarian minimizes the chances of dying from heart disease and stroke; contrarily, becoming a vegetarian could lead to an overconsumption of bread products which can aid a person in the gaining of weight. As long as the diet is mostly fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, the results of a vegetarian diet should be satisfactory. Brown University agrees with Miller and supports the vegetarian lifestyle as long as the vegetarian does not deprive themselves of vital vitamins.
