While reading the book, I came to the realization that many things seemed to attribute to poor children and the study that was being investigated. One of the main causes that put poor children in the position that they are in is the extreme income inequality. “Over 25 percent of the population lives on less than $2 a day and 13 percent live on less than a $1 a day,” (World Bank, 2005)(Kenny 25). The low income rates make it harder for families to maintain what's called a “normal” life, thus finding it difficult to find ways to bring in money.
