A very inspiring message carried throughout Muggeridge’s book, was brought forth through Mother Teresa’s work with the poorest of the poor. One of the biggest reasons she worked with them, and them alone, was they were not treated as human beings. She says in Muggeridge’s interview of her that, “I believe the people of today do not think that the poor are like them as human beings. They look down on them. But if they had that deep respect for the dignity of poor people, I am sure it would be… easy for them to come closer to them, and to see that they, too, are children of God.”(Muggeridge, p. 119).
