During the execution phase Luisa’ elbows should be at a 90 degree flexed angle tucked in together. But as we see here, Luisa’ elbows are more faced down and widened separated from each other. This will unbalance Luisa’ shot because she will have no control over the ball and need more force from her arms rather than the help from her body. This also happens because Luisa’ jump from executing the ball is more of a hop. To get more height on your jump will generate more height of the ball and allowing the ball to go in. This is projectile motion of the ball. We can also see that Luisa’ shoulder is too out of place for the ball to go in. Luisa’ shoulder should be elevated towards the hoop inline upwards with her elbow. The muscles that are working her shoulder are the trapezius and deltoids. These small muscles are being used every time her shoulder is elevated. So therefore if Luisa had the correct elevation within her shoulder the ball is more likely to go in. We can also see that Luisa is jumping forward with the ball rather than jumping straight up, this pushes the ball to hoop too strong where it becomes heavy and will rebound straight off. If we compare Luisa’ shot to the NBA players shot we can see a clear difference in how much more he is in control. His shoulder is squared up with his elbow and his elbows are risen above his head giving more height to the ball which will position it to go in. His jump …show more content…
The purpose of a jump shot is to gain height and the right distance for the ball to perfectly enter the hoop. This is simply why it's called a “jump shot” cause when applying the right amount of force onto the ball, the perfect jump and ending with a follow through will make the ball almost always go in. And that's why the jump shot is the most useful shot in the game of basketball.
The biggest impact on Luisa’ shot was probably her preparation phase. If she doesn't have the right balance, elbows in place and evaluation well then her shot is already set to fail. It's all about how she prepares her shot which will then determine how the rest of her shot turns out. Because Luisa failed to prepare her shot correctly serves a big impact on the rest of her shot, analysing Luisa’ shot from the preparation phase, this proves my point to be correct as the rest of the shot that was carried out was incorrect. I believe strongly that it was most definitely her preparation phase that had the biggest impact on her shot. To help Luisa prepare for her shot which will allow her shot to be perfect, I think she needs to analyse and watch a professional do it over and over so it can help her visualise what she did wrong and how she can change to improve. By watching a professional this will help her reposition her preparation phase and compare her stance to the professionals. To help Luisa improve
