Analysis Of Larissa

While I think that all of us did really utilize values of improvisation, I would like to discuss Larissa’s performance during the show. One thing that Larissa has really done well all semester but especially during the show is commit to the scene. One example of this was during the Gibberish Poet game where Larissa was the interpretive dancer. Larissa really committed to her role and did not hold back, which made all the difference. One of the most important techniques in effective improvisation is trusting your gut and fully committing to the character, the scene, and to your group members. I think that Larissa really utilized this technique during this game. Another technique that Larissa really clearly utilized was ‘yes anding’. Larissa has always done a great job with supporting everyone in the group by building each scene instead of stunting the scene or responding in a difficult way such as asking a question or disagreeing with the individuals in the scene. …show more content…
There was one part of the scene where Caroline said something along the lines of “I thought you were a cow.” Instead of disagreeing or just saying “Yeah”, Larissa added to the scene and said “Well I am part cow and woman” and then even a little later in the scene adds that element of ‘yes anding’ by pretending to transform into her alternate form. It was a great example of supporting your teammates by utilizing the ‘yes and’ technique. This also made Caroline and Ashley look good, which is another important technique for improvisation. I believe that Larissa has a lot of strengths and utilized many improvisation techniques, which ultimately enhanced the quality of our
