Koyaanisqatsi is a visual concert of images set to haunting music. I personally did not see a plot in the more modern way, but there are definitely scenarios, this video gave the power to the viewer to give value to the images and music. The video uses a technique of extensive time lapse photography, meaning it speeds the images up, but also uses a technique to slow them down to show a special comparison between the different types of motions. This work takes drawing to a whole new level, the real world. The film in a way is refreshing. It makes you wonder yourself, how they were able to even do this and capture in such a short time. By the title I assumed it was going to be something more towards a documentary like how we came about, indeed it was, but not told in the typical way, but instead in a stop frame animation. The film consists of large painted objects and animals coming off a wall and moving about the environment. The theme consists of dinosaurs, but also so many other themes and shapes are involved. The story of the big bang starting life which leads to different creatures at different times ultimately leading to the creation of man. The animation was showed as the whole story is played out on sidewalks, buildings, beaches, pipes and all across a city. I felt the specific background did make it s bit confusing. If it were the big bang theory, why would we have cars and humans in front of the animated dinosaurs unless this is a special way to broadcast the boom? The short film has an overall narrative and point, but what stood out the most to me that made it enjoyable to watch is the way it was delivered as a whole. For me, I can hardly imagine the patience and imagination Blu had to come about this piece. Overall I felt as if this piece was extraordinary piece to reflect the world of art films.
