Analysis Of John Keats 'Poem' When I Have Fears

Fear; A strong emotions usually caused by worrying about something bad about to take place. Everyone faces fear, some are mild as some very strong. For John Keats, I would categorize his fear as being very strong. Strong enough to write a poem, which, later became one of the richest poems ever written. Looking at his life from childhood, one would wonder, how you could go on without having fear of death. "When I Have Fears," this is a Shakespearean style sonnet with its rhyme scheme, with three quatrains and a concluding couplet. His admiration for Shakespeare 's songs and sonnets, made him write one very close to Shakespeare’s own sonnet patterns. Emphasis on the word “when” The three quatrains are subordinate clauses dependent on the word "when." Keats own fear, is dying before he gets to finish his poem. His fear of limitation, not realizing the unlimited ideas that he has even before getting to a pen. The ideas that filled his brain, so much of it that, he could have a pile of books, but his anxiety, is that not enough time to write everything I want to. You would want to go back and read between the lines and discover what is beneath the surface. I have read the story more than once, clues were there explaining the tension between the American and the girl. For the tension to be at this level, prior discussion must have took place. Their conversation was civil considering the amount of tension between the two of
