JimBob’s Painting is a one of a kind painting business, with a one of a kind owner. I am Austin JimBob Lewis, and I am the owner of JimBob’s Painting. Even though I am only 19 years old, I have been known all of my life as a hard working individual that gives it his all and that is exactly what I do when I am working for my customers.
Being the creator and owner of JimBob’s Painting has allowed me to experience many situations. Those experiences have been varied to say the least, but with the help of my family, I have been able to run a successful painting business. My mother’s family has had a church decorating business since 1939; it is called Riehle Decorating in Cresco, IA. When I was young, I would go to the different churches to see

Here is an example of how satisfied my customers have been, Scott Bertelsen, English teacher at Forest City High school, sent this email to his colleagues, “Need an exterior or interior painter who does an incredible job? I recently hired Austin JimBob Lewis. He did a fantastic job painting. He is very thorough. I highly recommend him for any of your painting needs.” When people say this about my business/work, I feel that the customer truly appreciates my work and is happy with the quality. Customer happiness is a key to my business and it has been my goal from the beginning to run a business with a 100% satisfaction rating and want my customers to come back for more jobs in the future. To date, I have finished three jobs for Scott Bertelson, and he is having me do another job this coming summer. This type of satisfaction is what has allowed me to thrive and give me confidence that the quality work and doing it right the first time pays off in the long …show more content…
Those tools are expensive to just go out and buy without any financial backing. Now that I have many jobs under my belt, I have been able to use some of my income to purchase my own drop sheets, plank, and ladders. My parents have put some financial commitment into my business which has allowed me to charge things I need for the business onto a credit card and pay them back once I get the money from finishing a job. My parents have been beyond supportive in my ventures and without them, I would not be as successful as I am today, and they deserve a great deal of credit for the success of this business. I am still in the process of accumulating more tools and equipment. I believe that the longer I am a business owner, the larger the business will be able to achieve due to experience and longevity. I am currently saving to buy a paint airless, as it will make painting indoor/outdoor projects much more efficient and able to do more in less amount of time. I believe that an airless will take my business to a whole new level as I will be able to paint larger buildings and homes in the same or less amount of time it takes me currently to paint small houses. Another big-ticket item I would like to look at buying is a buying a boom trailer for outdoor work, as it is

The work of art I chose to discuss this week is, Equestrian Portrait of King Phillip II (Michael Jackson), an oil on canvas painting done in 2010 by Kehinde Wiley. I chose this painting because Kehinde Wiley’s art interests me. When I first looked up some of his work I found that he has a signature style of remake classic paintings from the 17th century all the way up to the 19th century. But he adds his own twist to them. He gets innovative and incorporates African-American figures into his paintings as the focal point.…

The process of globalization is so uniquely displayed as Timothy Brooks uses Johannes Vermeer’s painting to illustrate the important events in the seventieth and eighteenth centuries, as well as shed light on the world, causing readers to think in a different manner. He shows that globalization was not simply because of one person, or one group of people, but many different cultures, thoughts, and ideas. Through the use of Vermeer’s paintings, Timothy Brooks discusses the rise of the global modern world and its intricate connection with The Creation of Adam painted by Michelangelo, as both reflect the economic and social changes that the world experienced through new trade routes, cultures, religious beliefs and a new era of learning and exploration.…
