I read ‘Road to Mecca’ in Indonesia version. ‘Jalan ke Makkah’ was translated by Fuad Hashem. Although it is in Indonesia, it makes me more understand and feel the story rather than in English version. However, there is a little bit difficult for me to digest certain Indonesian word. But it is not hinder me to follow the story and the lesson that the writers want to enlighten.
I learn a lot of lesson from the journey of Muhammad Asad. Although in the beginning of my reading, I feel that the way of the writers wrote the story is confusing. It is because he was combined the story of his journey to Tyma with the past experience. The video is about the argument of female western student and male Muslim student under the topic of jihad in the lecture room at America. The lecturer said Islam is a religion of peace and tolerate, than, the female students asked about the world most trouble part from West Bank, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, there all place with Islamic terrorism. And the issues of Taliban and terrorist were raised. It makes me realizes that the ‘ukwah’ that Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. taught us was very significant to us.
