In my opinion, I do not think this failed barbecue pit is a good art piece. In fact, I may not even consider it as art. The reason I am saying this is because I think the creation process of this piece is a total accident. Art is a very unique thing, it is not the representation of anything else in the world; it is not something natural that can be find in the nature; it is artificial; it is the product of the human civilization, and it is also a very important part of human culture. Finally, in order to make people love his art again, Homer comes up with the idea of flooding the entire town. I consider this piece as an artistic and thoughtful artwork. First of all, unlike the accident of the barbecue pit, this time Homer creates the piece with a completely artistic awareness as he realised it is not meaningful to create trash style sculpture over and over again, a revolution is needed for his art. Therefore, the flood piece becomes the avant-garde art of his art creation. Furthermore, an important aspect with respect this piece is that it blurs the border between vandalism and art. It is really interesting to realise that people hate vandalism all the time, but what happens if the process of vandalism becomes an artwork that everyone loves at the same time? Should we punish Homer as a vandalism criminal that flood the entire town or instead embrace him as a great artist that turn the town into a gorgeous art
