Like if a fish were to eat some plastic it could choke or die from ingesting it because of what it's made out of. The main purpose of the video was to show off the beauty of the ocean and what it could look like with no trash. And in her blog post “Ocean Trash: It’s Not OK” she talks about how the “ocean plastic pollution has become this big problem”(Erin Spencer). She even uses a picture of a sea turtle caught in some trash to emphasize just how any animal in the ocean could get caught in our trash. She even goes to bring up Kelly Slater, who has “spent countless hours in marine environments all over the world to see just how some oceans remain beautiful and some get trashed and ruined”(Spencer). She goes further into how Kelly Slater has gotten himself further involved in the movement of saving our oceans with him and his clothing brand Outerknown who’s goal was to create a clothing brand that wanted to help protect our natural resources. Now Outerknown has joined up Ocean Conservation to launch a new program called ITS NOT OK and its goal is to spread awareness of how the trash in our oceans has caused this huge environmental problem and it also wants to encourage others to rise up and help clean our oceans. The Ocean Conservation organization found out that there is approximately “eight million metric tons of plastic waste that flows from the land toward the ocean every year”(Ocean Conservation). What they found out from that findings is that by the year 2025 for every one ton of fish there could be three tons plastic floating around in the ocean

Have you ever been swimming in an ocean, and you notice a plastic bag or bottle floating in the water? There are many ways people can pollute the oceans. For starters, oil tankers spill oil into the water (Doc 2.). Boats sink (Doc 2), and eventually the boats break up into pieces and spread across the ocean floor (OI). Next, people dump sewage and garbage from boats and on beaches (Doc 2).…

Joy Williams “Save the whales, Screw the Shrimp” is ultimately only partly successful because, while it has reasonable ethos and logos and is a good example of expository text, the author seems to place too much blame on the reader that today’s culture has all but entirely lost touch with what nature really is. Throughout the text, Williams uses a variety of rhetoric devices to make her writing more effective. Logos, ethos, pathos, style, tone, audience, and mode are used in a way that seems to give readers the impression that she has authority over them. In the source of “History and Humans/rest of nature”, it’s been said that humans respond to change and in turn feed the climate.…

Environmental Struggle; Is Pollution Worth It Greg Graffin, a lead singer of the band “Bad Religion,” once said, “ So much of the habitat destruction and pollution is based on the simple principle that we somehow have been given free license over other species to degrade the planet.” Even though he’s speaking his mind, he makes a valid point about how we’ve been dumping our trash in the ocean and allowing factories to release gases and polluting our air. I am one of those people who cares about our oceans, the sea life in those oceans, and the very air we are breathing. None of these environmental problems should be happening and all because people want to make a quick dollar.…

The way we neglect our ocean with heavy amounts of pollution can potentially affect our lives in a negative manner. Driving cars and the use of plastic is essential to our daily lives, but we use them without the concern for how they are affecting the habitats on Earth. Some people think that the chance that they are doing harm to the ocean is less important to them than cost or inconvenience of fixing a pollution problem. Through sources from researchers and scientists, they have found evidence of pollution caused by the two essential commodities in our lives, plastic and burning fossil fuels. Environmentalists have found solutions to reduce the plastic waste in our ocean as well as attempting to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere…
