In this project we expect to industrialise this novel method to mass production of graphene with methane gas at a reasonably low cost. A sequential approach will be used for the …show more content…
We are responsible for synthesising a detailed engineering design to the extent of process flow diagram and the supplier that we recruit is responsible for designing the piping & instrumentation details and constructing the plant. Therefore the ability of our proposed plant to operate successfully depends on both how we designed it and how it was built in details. In this situation the owner and supplier share the risks on if the plant fails; thus I recommend an alliance project approach. In this approach both parties agree to work together for the good of the project. Essentially the owner pays for what was actually used in construction of the plant like a reimbursable arrangement but the risks of failure are shared between owner and …show more content…
For them there is a higher risk of losing money especially if the collateral is solely the graphene plant, in which case it is very difficult for them to sell the plant and get the money back. Therefore our budget has to largely come from the company fund. This is a high risk situation for the company. If the plant fails operation, the company could come close to bankruptcy. But on the other hand, if the technology can be assured by lab testing and the owner and supplier can work together seamlessly, the plant has a very good chance of
