The central idea in this book I believe is to accept your sexuality. I say this because throughout the whole story, the two main characters fight their own minds about the other. The story is set somewhere in Maine a year after 9/11. The two main characters are homosexual boys who are going to high school. In the story, a year after 9/11, there are sniper shootings all around the U.S. and it puts everyone in a panicked state.
