Analysis Of Gallup's Strengths

According to the StrengthsFinder quiz provided by Gallup, my five biggest strengths are harmony, adaptability, relator, restorative and consistency (Gallup, 2010). I believe that this quiz is pretty informative and I have to say that I agree with the assessment. I have used all of these skills throughout my life. I believe that I am very harmonious. I do not understand why everyone cannot get along. According to the quiz, I try to find common ground between people and try to draw attention away from their differences (Gallup, 2010).

The report states that I tend to enjoy having a few close relationships and I believe that this is 100 percent correct (Gallup, 2010). I don’t really care about having a lot of friends. I enjoy having a few very close friends. It is important to me to be able to trust your friends and count on them.

The restorative strength is probably the one that I most disagree with (Gallup, 2010). I do not really get too excited about solving problems. I would prefer that there were no problems to solve. When a problem does arise, I like to take in as much information as possible and try to think about the best possible solution and outcome. I do not enjoy making hurried decisions as a few of those have turned out negatively for me.

Finally, probably my favorite strength according to the quiz, is consistency (Gallup, 2010). I like to think of myself as consistent. I believe that sometimes there is too much gray area in business and decision making. I believe that these areas should be a little more black and white. At work, we will sometimes hire a driver with a certain issue and the next week we might not hire one that has the same issue. I feel that doing this is just setting us up for failure in the future.
