Analysis Of Fred Rastorfer's Dog Park

RITTMAN — Fred Rastorfer takes pride in his community and works to make it better.
In 2010, council named a baseball field in his honor. He donated a disc golf course to the city in 2015.
And, now, Rastorfer has another idea: A dog park.
“I’m always thinking of things to do,” Rastorfer told council recently. He has visited the dog parks in Wooster, Orrville, Wadsworth and Medina. He said there is a lot of acreage in the North Street Park that is not being used. Basically, to create the dog park, the city would need to purchase about 1,000 fence, he said. “Dogs like to run around and socialize.”
Medina’s dog park has a manmade pond in it, and some parks have water fountains for the dogs, Rastorfer said.
