It is contrary to what the flesh tells. Jesus tells us to love our enemy’s. Forgiveness is used many times throughout the Bible. In the New Testament, Jesus teaches forgiveness many times.
One example of Jesus teaching forgiveness is the women who had an affair. The Pharisees gathered around and were about to stone this woman. They asked Jesus what He would do. He took a stone and told them that whoever had never sinned could throw the first stone. They dropped their stones and left. Jesus then tells her to get up, go, and sin no more. This is a prime example of forgiveness.
Another instance Christ showed forgiveness is when he and his disciples were passing by the tax collectors. Instead of passing by, Jesus walked up to one of the tax collectors, whose name was Matthew, and asked him to follow Jesus. Whereas, the Pharisees would have seen them and passed by. The Pharisees thought they were better than the tax collectors. Jesus stopped and talked with the worst of the worst. He even tells his disciples that he had not come to save the righteous but the
