Human vs human conflict is between narrator and Margaret. Narrator and Margaret show differences in this story. We can see that they have different opinion especially about clothing, fashion, and what they do. The narrator always imagine that makes her happy, confident, and makes her feel good.We can see in line 135, “..., i crooked my fingers very slightlyinside the pocket of my fur jacket, as if i were holding hands with someone. And then i did something i never afterward admitted to anyone, not even margaret: i recited a poem to my invisible companion-Donne’s “the Flea” and we can see in line 190, “..., deep in the pocket of the fur jacket, was the pleasant tickling feeling that denoted the grasp of my imaginary lover.” Meanwhile Margaret does real action and not always imagine. They have an argument about their different perception. And the character “I” should receive the fact and do not keep imagine something, especially a lover. “I” who is always daydreaming too much without doing something. She just wants her roommate does it well and encourages herself in her romance. The statement is related to the story’s title “fine points” it means Margaret says it to “I” to make herself stops daydreaming. Fine points is a standardisation or type of man she wants to have but can’t get it, and Fine points that she has only makes “I” becomingan imaginary one. Because she has fine points for a man that she adores and it isin a literature, it makes herself difficult to get it.
