Analysis Of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

Within the film “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” we see a strong perception of a pseudo-psychedelic trip. In this particular scene Duke (Johnny Depp) has taken too much Adrenochrome, causing him to fall into a drug educed trip while Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) tries to get rid of Lucy over the phone. The stylistic choices of this movie depicts the hallucinogenic structure via camera movement, framing and composition, colour and the use of depth within the space.

The overall tonal colour of the scene is a musty pink that looks washed out and flat especially towards the background. Duke seems to blend in with the background due to his wardrobe being neutral and flat where as Dr. Gonzo seems to pop in the foreground due to the exposure being

I doubt that Alex got pregnen, if she was obssesed with Dan she could have made everything up. I don't belive Dan seen as a hero at the end of the movie because it has his wife the one that had the last shot, literally in the theatrical ending and figuratevly in the orginal ending.…

Hunter S. Thompson is an American icon and literary legend. Best known for his book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, his style of journalism is distinct and popular. It is no surprise, if a bit unorthodox, that ESPN would run a piece by him in the aftermath of September 11th. To quote Cheech Marin for Newsweek in 1996, five years before the September 11th attacks, “the imprimatur of literary eminence means Thompson … [is] respected,” and this explains how an article that that decries “all hope for Peace in Our Time” and states that “We are At War now” with a “mysterious Enemy” can still be so well written, so on-the-nose, and receive such a large platform (Marin, 1996, and Thompson, 2001). Thompson has obviously led a fairly colorful life,…

The mise en scène elements of acting, lighting, and color in Steven Soderbergh’s Out of Sight (1998) correlate closely with the moods of different parts of the film, contributing significantly to the film’s storytelling process. In the analyzed shot, many of these elements work in tandem to suggest to viewers a turning point in the storyline. As argued below, the mise en scène elements of acting, lighting and color in the shot of Jack Foley and Buddy packing to leave Miami function to emphasize a major transition in both the location and tone of the plot. This shot lasts for about 25 seconds (52:31-52:56) and takes place at Buddy’s place, a setting with a warm, yellow hue.…

Lastly, I would like to compare romantic relationships within each of these films and how their communication led to either a strong relationship or the termination of their relationship and the stages they went through to get there.…
