I was able to observe two children who are siblings, Tristan who is five years old and his younger sister Ellie who is three. They also have a little brother who is year old and their mother is currently pregnant and due any day. Their mother and father are currently incarcerated therefore; all of the children are living with their grandparents. The grandparents currently have custody of all three children, and our waiting for their daughter to give birth, to take custody of that child.
Erikson’s Theory
I know these children personally and have been able to watch them for several years. I have observed them in the presence of their parents and also with their grandparents. When speaking about Erikson’s developmental stages Tristan would be

Manipulative Behavior
I did not experience seeing the manipulative behavior in these children. These children could benefit from some mental health resources. Their home life has not always been stable. My first thought on this is yes, when the crime is to the utmost severity, violent juvenile offenders should be viewed and punished just as adults. With this said, age should also be considered first. At what age do we punish a child for an adult violent act? I am not sure, probably past puberty into the early teen years; thus, being the age they know right from wrong when it comes to violence, like 13 or 14 and up. When I read chapter 11, the first 3 examples appalled me and made me sick to my stomach.…
