Edgar Allen Poe’s death is a disputed subject. There are many propositions and assumptions about his death, and because of that we will never know how he died. A common theory of Poe’s death is he died of drunkenness. Most people believe he died from drunkenness because he was known to be an alcoholic. Based on the witnesses and family members of Poe, whose claims exhibit a drunk man on his last days, witnesses say he had a “vacant stupidity” on his face. He was also found in a tavern “semiconscious”, and was allegedly brought to an emergency room for people in a drunken state.
