In this project, our clients is ECC Inc., MetroPCs authorized dealer. It was founded in 1997 as a CD and Stereo/Alarm Automotive Installment Store. In 2000, it vegan to carry cell phone providers as a multi carrier authorized dealer, and until 2007, it has 6 of 18 retail stores to MetroPCs exclusive authorized dealer stores. So far, it is the top 3 authored dealer of LA region. ECC Inc. has a big problem of stock outs and it is truing to find a way to improve shortages within the limitations given by MetroPCs. But our analysis needed to be analyzed by looking at key processes of MetroPCs (Macro) because around 90% businesses of our client (micro) is in accordance to the terms and conditions provided by MetroPCs and our client is responsible …show more content…
We found several drawbacks of our client’s supply chain that could cause shortage in inventory, and we analyzed every possibility to save those current issues. So far, MetroPCs has attracted a large number of customers who has low incomes, so compare with online shopping, storefronts are the way most customers purchase products from MetroPCs. MetroPCs is currently unable to connect well with supplies during the peak period which highly affected its productivity, as well as its position in the market. MetroPCs changed the market in that it has been the first prepaid unlimited company to sale in massive quantities at very low prices. Nevertheless, MetroPCs is vulnerable to competition, given the ease of substitution. As a prepaid carrier it competes with other agencies, such as Boost, Cricket, etc., and they have the potential of losing clients if there is a shortage of inventory. So the objective of this project is to create a supply chain strategy that could help MetroPCs better manager their business, in turn to achieve higher position in its industry. Specifically, we want to identify the root cause o their supply chain issues though analyzing the supply chain status. We The following graph shows the working process of this assessment. In order to have a better understating of our client, we conducted both quantitive analysis and qualitative analysis. We analyzed data provided by our ECC, including inventory counts and needs, schedules of inventory fulfillment, amount of allocation units and amount of inventor kept at one time. We evaluated the industry to seek possibility in making recommendations. Consider T-Mobile is the parent company of MetroPCs, we also found its recent financial report to have a big picture of this company and the way of their supply chain management. The qualitative information we used mainly come from the answer of a questionnaire we gave to the key personnel of our client. We asked some questions related to our main topics in this questionnaire, such as “How do the parties communicate with each other?”, “How often is inventory made and how is it done?” and so
