As Simon Van Booy says, “For those who are lost, there will always be cities that feel like home.” For me Dubai and New Delhi are the two cities I call my home. Dubai, one of the biggest tourist hubs in the world, is a city in the United Arab Emirates. One of the most developed cities in the world, Dubai is also considered to be one of top most expensive cities. New Delhi is a city in India. Delhi was built by a British architect, and has been there for a long time. As the capital of the country, New Delhi serves as the seat for the Government of India. Both the cities have a few similarities and differences.
Dubai and New Delhi are both a vacation destination. Dubai has the world’s tallest building― Burj Khalifa. This building has 165 floors, which includes hotels, residential areas and a spot for the tourists. It was constructed to be in the center of Dubai, and is visible from anywhere in Dubai. Burj is surrounded by one of the largest malls in the world― The Dubai Mall. The Dubai Mall exhibits an underwater zoo, and an Ice skating rink, which is one of the most popular spot for tourist who are trying to battle the scorching sun in Dubai. Since both the cities have a very diverse population, all the Indian festivals including Hindu and Muslim, are celebrated in both the cities. Dubai being a predominantly Muslim city, the celebration of Ramadan is very cheerful. During Ramadan,the Muslims are fasting during the day. And keeping that in mind, people are not allowed to eat on the roads or in any restaurant. Other Hindu festivals such as Holi, Diwali, Onam etc. are also celebrate. Similarly, New Delhi being the most diverse city in India, celebrates mostly every festival of the country. During the festival time, the atmosphere is lively, and city looks beautiful.
