In the book “Drums Girls And Dangerous Pie”, the main character, Steven, went through the five stages of grief (Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance). After his younger brother Jeffrey fell and had a really bad nose bleed, it turned out he had leukemia.
In the book “Drums Girls And Dangerous Pie” Steven goes through the first stage of grief, denial. The book said that Steven believes the emergency room doctors are wrong, and Jeffrey had a bad nose bleed. This was right after the day where Jeffrey fell off his stool and hit his nose on the table. When they lifted the rag that he was using to wipe away the blood, it was sodden with it. After that Steven's mom brought Jeffrey to the emergency room, was really bad and wouldn't

On page 132# it said “I was frustrated about all the homework the teachers gave me.” In that part it was were Steven had all of his homework he didn't do came down on him. Also what happened even before that Steven was sad that his brother had leukemia and it made him depressed causing him to only drum since drumming is his way to lose it and it caused him not do his homework. On page 168# in “Drums Girls And Dangerous Pie” it said “I was in full attack mode now.” At that time in the story Steven was yelling at his dad after he didn't answer his phone call from his mom and it made his dad come home to make sure he was ok but he was mad since he was in an important meeting that could give them $200. That's when Steven said “I was in full attack mode now.” because he was mad at his dad also because he wasn't there for him he never helped him with calming Jeffery or anything he's just work work work and …show more content…
On page 94 Steven said “god if i dont go to this dance will you make Jeffery better?” This point in the story Steven was going to a school dance dressed like something that he thinks looks like barney and he didn't want to be dressed like causing him to be scared. It was when a reached the school he said “god if i dont go to this dance will you make Jeffery better?” On page 97# in “Drums Girls And Dangerous Pie” Steven said “one final offer god take me not jeffery.” Steven said this after annet embarrassed him in front of all his friend making him say that.
