Argument Analysis: Donald Trump For President

I would consider the article “ Donald Trump for President” as the more effective because it uses examples to support its argument why the author is voting for Donald Trump. The author mentions that Clinton will follow the same path of president Obama, and will increase the U.S’s debt. However, Trump will bring corporations, create new jobs, and advocate for lower taxes, and will lead to the prosperity of the county. Also, this article mentions the first and second amendment that could appeal to people who have a strong believe in those amendments, as the author mentions, “ The individual right to bear arms would be a likely casualty of a Clinton presidency.” People will believe that the amendments should not be change. For example the author says, “ … Americans express frustration and disillusionment today with the political institutions that govern the nation.” this phrase expresses how people concern about the government. In contrast, Michael Brown did not use concrete language, for example: “[Trump] help me feel more confident” I wonder confident about what? If Trump is provoking a racial division that in the end would increase the social problems and discrimination. Also, he mentions, “...God will uses [Trump] for good, not for evil.” so, if Trump become president, is God responsible for Trump’s actions?

Furthermore, the article “ Donald Trump for President” did not use narrative to explain the author’s decision. While Brown uses narrative to explain why he is voting for Trump, his article is very personal every time he mentions himself, “ I have the opportunity to vote, I feel that I should vote for Trump.” This is a narrative article, seems like Brown is telling me why he chooses

According to the article Chicago Tribune's endorsement of Gary Johnson, the issue question of the author is the follow: What should tens of millions of voters who yearn for answers do with two major-party candidates they disdain? The reason for this question is because people wish to have another choice. The structure of the article is well done because it gives me background of the topic and the thesis, explains his point, and conclude by recalling his claim. However, the author did not explain what Gary Johnson’s opposition think about him as a candidate. In addition, the author talks about the credibility (ethos) that each candidate has for instance, Donald Trump is described as person that does not qualify for becoming a president because…

The general argument made by author Michael Finnegan in his work, Republican Party disruption in Trump’s Nevada victory”, is that Donald Trump persuades his audience with his speeches and the cruel words he uses to get voters to vote for him in order to become President of the United States. More specifically, Finnegan argues that Trump has the necessary power to become the ruler of the United States. He writes quotes Trump when he stated, “We might not even need the two months, folks, to be honest.” This line reveal the confidence that Trump has for himself for winning the elections and Finnegan agrees with him when he stated “Trump might be right.”…

“The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words” (Philip K. Dick, 1980). We humans can be easily manipulated by words of someone. Words can be structured to target a certain audience, where the language used is varied depending on where it is being presented. We can see this in political speeches, where certain words are used with the specific purpose to give value to the audience.…

Using an example, Collinson reveals “The clearest sign that Trump has no intention of changing, despite his new responsibilities, has emerged in a volley of controversial tweets” from November 27th to the 29th (4). By providing an example, Collinson appeals to the reader’s logic and emotions by verbalizing that the information is obvious and honest. And information or quotes that would put Donald Trump in the wrong are over-exaggerations by the media to make him out to be a terrible person. Mainly because he’s a candidate that never started out as a politician the upper class had a hold on. On top of that he’s a candidate that isn’t one to hold his tongue when it comes to issues concerning Iraq and immigration. In light of Donald Trump’s shocking rise to political eminence as the newly elected president of the United States, numerous rhetorical artifacts relating to an uncertain and fraught future for American government and politics have inundated mainstream media and news outlets, hailing a resurgence of national interest in federal government through largely dogmatic and peremptory ideological and propagandistic rhetorical texts. The recent controversial “Person of the Year” cover of TIME magazine showcasing a pensive President Donald Trump delineated in melodramatic shadows against a livid, uninspiring backdrop exists as a notable and salient rhetorical artifact within American social and media culture. As such, the magazine cover asserts a persuasive…

Lisa McGirr’s book Suburban Warriors: The origins of the New American Right, published in 2001, examines the history of the conservative grassroots movement in Orange County, California during the 1960s and 1970s. With a “bottom up” lens, McGirr focused on ordinary people behind the grass-roots conservatism rather than the intellectual and political leaders. Historian Richard Hofstadter believed right-wing activists acted purely on their “psychological distress” rather than being motivated by a set of beliefs or “rational politics” (7). In response, McGirr argues that the ordinary people who created conservative grassroots were usually already involved with modernity. Many of them were mobile migrants who welcomed entrepreneurialism and already…

Capturing the emotions of the American people lifted Donald trump to victory in 2016, and “Donald Trump’s Argument for America” captures the essence of the populist message he shared with the world. Trump outlines the problems with the political establishment, and empowers the people to change society. He offers himself as the only candidate with the skills necessary to cut through the establishment and put an end to the status quo that is crippling America. The ad, which runs 2 minutes (rather than typical 30-60 second poli-spots), is considered a melodrama, as it prioritizes emotional reactions over detailed characterizations of the political problems facing the United States: Donald Trump: Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt…
