Is college really needed? People are taught that college is the gateway to all hopes and dreams, but in todays society college does not seem as sentimental as it once was. By the time a child starts the first grade they are taught the importance of school, education, and all the opportunities a degree comes with. Someone with a degree is supposed to have a higher salary intake than someone who does not have a degree. Today that not the case people who have not attended college are still making a living and sometimes just as much or even more than someone with a degree. Many have argued their beliefs about college and have also provided solutions.

They both make valid statements in each article. Frank Bruni states that
“…college needs to be an expansive adventure, yanking students toward unfamiliar horizons and untested identities rather than indulging and flattering who and where they already are. And students need to insist on that, taking control of all facets of their college experience and making it as eclectic as possible.”
This statement hits the nail on the head. This explains why attending a four year college is better for an individual than to just attend a community college and not be able to individually explore their mind and broaden their perspective on life it self. Both of these Articles have taking me into deep thought.
